Fine dining is and should be memorable
Life is about trying new things be it something different, something exciting, something awesome and food isn't any different. But which restaurants are serving something different in the Halal food scene? Which restaurants are edgy and creative and pushing the boundaries in terms of food and service? Where do we as Muslims go for a high end dining experience that's fully Halal?
This made us look at one type of cuisine in particular; fine dining. This cuisine is characterised by food that is a little bit more fancy, refined, that contains ingredients you struggle to pronounce and need Google search to understand what it is. The attention to detail is insane at fine dining restaurants from the service, to the food , it's about providing the diner a superior and premium dining experience.
It's all about the WOW factor
Eating at a fine dining restaurant makes you feel special and you definitely want to be wowed. It allows you to enjoy food that you wouldn't normally be able to replicate at home. The dishes at these restaurants are labour intensive, require a high level of skill and precision and most importantly creative flair. If you look at some of the ingredients and read it back to yourself you might think how on earth is that going to work but somehow it does. You'll probably find tiny portions in comparison to other restaurants, but fine dining isn't about getting a belly full of food and struggling to move after. Yes some dishes are rich, but it's more about enjoying dishes that are wonderfully balanced in terms of flavours and textures. It should be a one of a kind experience.
Millennial Muslims' dining habits are changing
We've seen a few fine dining restaurants opening up like The Great Chase, Cona and The 2Four4 Lounge who are offering food that's more refined and of a higher quality. This is because restaurant owners are understanding that this generation of Millennial Muslims are well travelled, have disposable income and demanding better, varied and more unique food. As more of us travel, we're discovering and trying more cuisines and this not only broadens our palates but we crave it when we're back in the UK. We're not settling for eating just home cooked food like our parents who on the whole are more averse to trying new cuisines. The culmination of all of this is why we're seeing a small influx of fully Halal fine dining restaurants and there will be more trust us.
Chefs are creating exciting dishes for you to enjoy
Chefs are creating British and Mediterranean influenced dishes that will excite your senses and experimenting with ingredients, flavours, textures, colour and presentation. All good for your taste buds. The food at these restaurants are being cooked by highly trained chefs absolutely passionate about food. They literally live and breathe it. It's a great thing to see that Halal food has come such a long way from the curries or the burgers we've become used to. We're not saying there's anything wrong with these types of restaurants serving this food because we love it as much as the next person, but Halal fine dining restaurants are a great addition to the ever evolving and growing Halal food scene in the UK. In all honesty we want to eat food we see on TV shows like Masterchef and Saturday Kitchen and fully Halal restaurants are catering to these needs.
We welcome fully Halal fine dining restaurants with open arms
There are many fine dining Michelin starred restaurants that offer Halal options and they're great, but you do have to pre order Halal meats at some and others have partially Halal menus so you have to be cautious about how the food is prepped and cooked. The restaurants we're referring to are extra special because they are fully Halal. Yup that's right all the meats are Halal, no alcohol is served and no non Halal ingredients to be found anywhere.
What makes these restaurants so special?
Simply put the food, the service and atmosphere. You'll find menus that are creative and varied which shows they really care about the food they serve. There's an emphasis on seasonality and ethically sourcing only the best produce. The chefs will be using very elaborate preparation and cooking methods to create their dishes. You'll enjoy dishes that are a delight for your taste buds as well as your eyes. We call it art on a plate. These restaurants will provide a first class dining service that'll make you feel welcome and attended to and no fine dining experience is complete without a warm, inviting atmosphere which you'll get at the following restaurants:
Cona (all meats are Halal and no non Halal ingredients used in any dish. No alcohol is served)
20 East Parade, Bradford, BD1 5HD
